Career Stats and Awards

During his 12 year career, all with St. Louis, Brian Sutter epitomized what it means to be a St. Louis Blue. He not only became the greatest Captain in team history but also was the very heart and soul of the franchise. Brian played every role possible on the team from scoring goals, (he was a 2 time 40+ goal scorer) to dropping the gloves, delivering fierce hits, to killing penalties, all the while serving as the clear leader and conscience of the franchise. Throughout his career he was a fixture on left wing with HOFer Bernie Federko, forming one of the greatest duos in franchise history.

At the conclusion of his career, he was given the ultimate honor by the Blues who retired his #11.   After his playing days were over, however, he continued his leadership of the team by becoming head coach.  In 1990-91, Brian won the Jack Adams award as the NHL’s coach of the year during what was one of the Blues best regular season campaigns ever.
